James Monroe Collins married Nan E Twiggs, daughter of John Wesley Twiggs and Sarah Elizabeth Hughes, on 2 January 1896 at Union County, Georgia.1

James Monroe Collins died on 30 June 1954 at Weld County General Hospital, Greeley, Weld County, Colorado, at age 83. 7:15 a.m.9

James Monroe Collins was buried on 2 July 1954 at Eaton Cemetery, Eaton, Weld County, Colorado, 1 mile East and 1/2 mile south of Eaton in Section 5, Towhship 6, Range 65 West.10,9,11
